What’s the Best Way to Inspire Innovators for Tech Transfer? Take Our Current Poll

Nancy Pekar
As any tech transfer professional knows, inventor buy-in is key to successful technology licensing and collaborative R&D. But which tech transfer office (TTO) effort to secure that buy-in packs the biggest punch? Fuentek wants to hear from you!

Our current poll asks the question:

What does your TTO find to be the most effective way to encourage innovator participation in tech transfer?

It’s likely that many TTOs undertake multiple efforts. But we’re wondering which effort has had the biggest impact:

  • Have you had the greatest success with brochures, posters, or other materials promoting tech transfer? (See examples of brochures and displays.)
  • If you have a portion of your office Web site dedicated to the innovator’s perspective, has that been the most effective tool for connecting with researchers? (Read our insights on effective TTO Web sites.)
  • Do periodic newsletters informing and educating researchers about tech transfer boost their participation most? (See an example of such a newsletter.)
  • Do you find that training sessions are the best way to get inventors on board with tech transfer? (We’ve blogged about inventor training before.)
Has another tool or process been particularly beneficial for your TTO in fostering innovator support of tech transfer? If so, choose “Other” on the poll and please add a comment below to share your experiences. Or, if you prefer, you can send us a private message via our Contact Us page.

Take the poll today! Results will be posted on our blog soon.
